Print med dit foto The nature around Skagen has fascinated us since we started Foto Factory. Skagen’s nature is diverse, but dominated by the dune plantation and the many beaches that wrap around Skagen’s Headland.

It is not just nature, but the light and atmosphere around Print med dit foto Denmark’s northernmost city, Skagen, that inspires us. It’s not just us who love the area. The area has a long tradition of being a place where artists meet to immortalize nature with the very special “Skagen light”. Not least bird watchers make a pilgrimage to Skagen Odde to experience Northwest Europe’s largest spring migration of birds of prey.

SKAGEN POSTERS WITH SKAGEN’S NATURE

Which we have since expanded and now most recently with even more posters from the area. It is again a collection of nature posters showing some of the many natural areas around Skagen. In the following text you can find text and links to our Skagen posters and the various places we have visited with camera rights.

DAMSTED DUNE

Damsted Klit is a large dune area and part of the Skagen Klitplantage on the Kattegat coast southwest of Skagen City. The sun starts to color the sky and we are ready with the camera. We have the entire dune area facing the land and get the first pictures in the camera while the sun hits the dunes.

After a beautiful sunrise, there is finally time for a nice long walk in the dune area.

The extensive dunes are a young landscape consisting of wind-swept dunes that form an almost unbroken barrier along the West Coast . Although it is nice to walk along the water on the other side of the dunes, there is a wonderful landscape on the other side. The walk goes in past the sandy church and back through the low dune forest with small crooked trees. The trip ends when we are back at the parking lot at the end of Damsted road.

After a beautiful sunrise, there is calm and balance in the body, which benefits from the clean air and silence.

The last poster from Damstederne was taken with a drone so that you can see the graphic pattern with the small waves winding towards the coast. The sound is like a trickle as the waves roll over the shallow water. It is always exciting to fly the drone over the landscape to see the new perspective that can be photographed with the drone.

SKAGEN BEACH

The beaches around Skagen are almost endless and full of opportunities to walk and find peace in nature. It can be the very small things that make the mind find peace and balance. Walking and looking down into the sand or seeing the different stones on the beach.

Two of our Skagen posters are such motifs that show the simplicity of the beach. The beach stone poster is e.g. photographed one early morning at Skagen Nordstrand, where after a lovely morning with the camera we are on our way home. We have been up early and got pictures of the seals and the beautiful sunrises. We follow the beach south and observe the sand wherever we go. One moment it’s sand the next stone. The photograph of beach stones is taken just as the sunlight hits the sand and stone. The light creates a beautiful photograph where you can almost feel and sense the texture of the sand and stones.

The photograph of the sand ripples was taken on the way to Grenen on a cloudy day. The fine ripples that form when the waves roll over the shallow water on the beach. You can almost feel the cold water and the texture of the sand under your feet. Both photographs show a small area of nature and symbolize the free and refreshing nature of a trip to the beach.

SKAGEN’S ODDE

If there is something that attracts us as photographers, it is the light in Skagen. The light has attracted artists who use the light to capture the very special atmosphere in nature. A combination of the Skagerak to the west and the Kattegat to the east ensures that the sea reflects the light so that even on a gray day it can create beautiful motifs.

It is fantastic to stand high on the dunes and look out over the sea. Enjoy the view and the pulling followed. Further inside are groups of ornithologists and other nature lovers with telescopes and notepads. We are busy taking photos while the light slowly fades.

At Denmark’s northernmost point at Grenen, the Skagerak to the west and the Kattegat to the east meet. It is a meeting with different water, waves and current. At the far end of Grenen, seals lie and rest while the sun disappears on the horizon. There is the most fantastic light and the elements form a graphic composition of sea buckthorn and horsetail with the Branch in the background. This particular view has become a poster of Grenen .
